The new ‘Jordan E-Bike’ aimed at the commuter market will set you back €3,500 and come in the livery of Eddie Jordan’s old Formula 1 team

Irishman, and former Formula 1 team owner, Eddie Jordan has launched a new e-bike venture. His new range of bikes, in conjunction with a British company with experience in e-scooters, with sell for €3,500.

The motor on the ‘Jordan E-Bike’ is located in the hub of the rear wheel and fully charges over a period of seven to eight hours. The frame is aluminium and the bike comes with mechanical disc brakes, eight-speed Shimano gears and Innova tyres.

It also includes an integrated colorful LCD display, IOT & blue tooth, show battery power, mileage, speed, gear and other data.

The commuter bikes, which have just gone on sale, have a range of around 60 miles and can accelerate from 0-15mph under average pedal-assisted power in under three seconds. The hand-built bikes are designed in the UK and distributed in collaboration with D&D Electric, the eco-friendly e-vehicle manufacturer based in Coulsdon, Surrey.

The bikes carry the same trademark yellow livery as his Jordan Grand Prix F1 cars and are being sold to raise money for The Amber Foundation, a British charity that supports homeless young people and which Jordan is a patron of.

“I’ve always believed in nurturing talent, whether on the track or off it,” said Jordan. “The incredible D&D Electric team has put their heart and soul into creating these beautiful machines for the benefit of The Amber Foundation, and I couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved.

“As a racing enthusiast, I know the importance of adrenaline and excitement. Trust me, our electric bikes deliver that in spades – they’re astonishingly quick – and will make the daily commute as much fun as driving a F1 car – or nearly as much as fun.”

D&D Electric founder Asad Khan added: “The combination of Eddie’s racing spirit and our focus on designhas resulted in a range of bespoke ebikes that look stunning and will, we believe, redefine urban commuting.”
