Greta Price-Martin, who was killed while cycling in Dublin this week, has been described as “a beautiful person who radiated warmth and positivity”

Tributes have been paid to Greta Price-Martin, the 22-year-old college student who was killed while cycling in south Dublin this week. Originally from Co Louth, Greta died from injuries sustained in a crash with a truck driver on Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred at the junction of the Glenageary Road Upper, Mountown Road Lower and Kill Avenue in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin. While Greta was taken from the scene by ambulance to hospital, she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Greta was from Templetown, Co Louth, and had been living Dún Laoghaire while studying in Dublin and was on her way to work when she was killed.

“Deeply missed by her devastated sister Ruth, brothers Jack and Louis, partner Charlie, and her parents, Breffni and Vanessa, grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins and wider family and friends,” her death notice said.

“Greta had just finished her first year at IADT and just started her first job in film production, with everything ahead of her, when she was struck down cycling to work. She will live on in the hearts and minds of her many family and friends.”

Many people left condolences, offering their sympathies to her family, with a number of people who knew Greta also paid tribute to her. “I will always love Greta, she was a beautiful friend and she will stay with me forever,” said one.

“I remember sailing with Greta in Carlingford as children. She had a kind and welcoming essence and left a lasting impression on all who had the joy of meeting her. May she rest in peace. She will never be far from you.,” wrote another person.

“My son and Greta had started working on a music/lightshow/film project to use at upcoming festivals. A beautiful person who radiated warmth and positivity,” one tribute said.

“We struggle to find the words to express just how deeply saddened we are by the devastating news. Greta holds a special place in our hearts, as we fondly remember the precious moments shared between her and Andrea when they were younger,” added another.

Another tribute said: “Dear Breffni, Vanessa, Ruth, Jack, Louis, Charlie and extended families please accept our heartfelt condolences. We are so shocked and saddened to hear of the devastating loss of your precious Gretta. May the happy memories keep you going on your darkest days. You are in our thoughts at this terribly sad time.”

A funeral ceremony celebrating Greta’s life will be celebrated in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6W on Monday, April 29th, at 4pm, followed by cremation.
