The UK based Weston Homes-Torelli-Assure cycling Team have finished the season with the Irish National Medals that have eluded them in recent years, winning both the Team Sprint & the Team Pursuit at Sundrive Velodrome on Saturday (October 10th).

Torelli sent a very strong team of Irish Internationals to the event (Autumn Collins, Deirbhle Ivory, Caoimhe O’Brien, Jennifer Bates) .

Collins and Ivory won the opening Team Sprint event ahead of the Irish teams, with Arcane Women’s Team taking Silver (Kissane / Taggart) and the Sundrive Track Team (Loscher / Mitchell) taking Bronze.

Weston Homes-Torelli-Assure then produced a great ride to win the Team Pursuit, getting close to the record times set by both Sundrive Track Team, and Arcane Women’s Team in recent years on a blustery day at Sundrive Velodrome.

Nikki Taggart (Arcane Women’s Team) stopped Torelli taking a clean sweep of Gold Medals ending a remarkable return to cycling by winning her first Irish National Title – beating pre race favourite Deirbhle Ivory (Torelli) in both her qualifying heat and the final.

A great day for Women’s Cycling , with the standard growing (even under Covid restrictions).
