Irish racing calendar for 2024 season | Road, track, off-road

The Irish road racing season, across all four provinces, has been fixed for next year (see extensive lists below), with track MTB and gravel events also already set in stone. While the National Cyclocross Championships will be the first major event of 2024, a new Gravel National Championships is also set to be promoted.

That will be an exciting addition to the racing scene, especially as the discipline has grown in popularity so quickly. The domestic calendar has been broken down into different disciplines – road, track and MTB already set, with more BMX, paracycling and downhill details to follow

Once again the main national stage races will be Rás Tailteann in May, the Junior Tour of Ireland in July and Rás na mBan in September. Easter will see the Gorey Three Day promoted in Leinster, Rás Mumhan in Munster. However, there is no sign of a return of the Tour of the North, missing now for several years, though the Victus Tour of Ulster is listed for May after this year’s cancellation.

The National Road Championships will be decided in Co Limerick this year – the TTs and road races being decided from the 20th to 23rd of June – hosted by Newcastle West Cycling Club.

Another notable feature of the domestic season is the five-round Cycling Ireland National Road Series, from March to July; Des Hanlon Memorial (March 23rd), Donal Crowley Memorial (April 28th), Brian O’Loughlin Memorial (May 19th), Sean Nolan Meath GP & Rás na Mi (June 9th) and Alan Towell Memorial (July 28th).
