Hello to the w/c. Here is your regular hurry slurry of things to turn that frown upside down. Happy Monday! We were at *icebike yesterday seeing all the new stuff from UK distributor Madison. Pretty much all of the bestest stuff was under embargo. Sorry about that. We still have a pic of our favourite bike from the show for you below.Despite industry obligations we managed to squeeze a quick mountain bike ride before the show. Which is always nice to do. The mud is getting to that sticky stage around here. Which, whilst making post-ride clean-up a bit longer, does mean that spring is on its way.Anybody seen any snowdrops/primoses/daffodils yet?Custom Genesis Vagabond from *icebike:We are suckers for a pink bicycle. And this not-the-standard-pink Vagabond was extremely lovely. Even though the Vans waffle grips clashed. WANT.Genesis BIkes: “With all of its off-road prowess and versatility, the Vagabond frameset makes an excellent base to build your ideal adventure bike. Significantly updated geometry, massive tyre clearance and ultra-wide gear ratio compatibility create a modern take on monstercross garage builds of old.”Stanton Switchback FS Ti:
Stanton Bikes recently revealed deets of their new Switchback FS Ti bike: “The Switchback FS Ti takes everything we love about the Switch9er FS Ti and refines it for the 27.5″ wheel platform. Designed to be ridden your way, it can be set up as a full 27.5″ or a mullet with a 29″ up front and 27.5″ at the rear. With 140mm of rear travel, this bike is built for those who want a responsive, agile ride with the same precision engineering and dialed geometry that makes every Stanton a dream to ride. Whether you’re hitting fast, flowy trails or getting rowdy on the steeps, the Switchback FS Ti delivers confidence, control, and a whole lot of fun.”Brayton on Saracen:
“Saracen is excited to announce the signing of Adam Brayton as their latest rider for the 2025 season. Brayton needs little in the way of an introduction, hailing from Keswick in the Lakes, Brayton is a highly renowned Downhill World Cup racer who started back in 2008. In recent years, Brayton has still been keeping it at the sharp end with a top 10 finish in the 2024 RedBull Hardline Wales event as well as 6 th in the British National Champs. Away from racing, you’ll find Adam building his local trails and sharing what he gets up to through his Gas-To-Vlog over on YouTube as well as a spot of fishing when he can.”Privateer £800 off plus extra £200 STW discountPrivateer have knocked £800 off complete Privateer 141 and 161 bikes. To sweeten the deal Privateer Bikes has also made a custom STW code for a further £200 off (so a total saving of £1000!)Code: STWextra (this code will only work on the UK shop site)Gracey Hemstreet’s Red Bull Hardline Tasmania race run:
Scrub to 31m 09s (or just hitting play on the embed above should work…). Other runs of note: Sam Hill, Josh Bryceland, Matt Jones and the Men’s winner.Three Wheel Drive:
An inspiring film about three ordinary physically disabled cyclists: Neil, John, and Caroline. They embark on an extraordinary journey to reach and stay in a remote bothy in the Highlands of Scotland, overcoming hardcore challenges on the route. The film demonstrates how, through planning and determination, they conquer their fears and anxiety, venturing into the hills to do something that is relatively ordinary for most but extraordinary for people with physical disabilities.Tree FM:Courtesy of Shouting from the Shed – Adventure // Books // Nature // Quirky and Fun Stuff.
