Launch Details
Are you ready to go on an ‘Aventure?’ Today the Canadian e-bike company Aventon announced its newest addition to its lineup with the Adventure. This fat tire-styled electric bike comes equipped with massive 4” Kenda Krusade tires which are propelled by the bike’s 750W hub motor capable of a whopping 1130W peak. This combination has a lot of promise for those looking to head off-road on occasion.
On top of the new bike itself, Aventon is debuting what they call an industry first color display screen that integrates with an all new app. The app powers the bike and its integrated lights on and off, while also tracking your mileage and trips, and provides a community feature to meet up with other Aventon riders. The app even displays how many trees you’ve saved riding on your bike instead of a car.
Aventon sees the bike and app as a collective step forward for e-bike communities.
“We’re thrilled to introduce Aventure! It’s a majestic beast of an ebike with exciting, first-to-market technology that gives riders features they’ve been asking for since we launched our company. It’s a smooth ride on all terrains with the full-color screen and app that really sets the standard for how people will interact with our ebikes moving forward. Plus, the bike itself is just a joy to ride,” says Aventon’s Chief Marketing Officer, Adele Nasr.
The Aventure comes in four color offerings: Camouflage Green, Electric Red, SoCal Sand, and Fire Black. Riders will have three sizes to choose from that should accommodate riders from 4’11” – 6’4”.
Fat tire bikes have been steadily growing in popularity and Aventon seems to be attempting to separate itself from the pack with some upgraded componentry versus what typically is found on affordable fat tire bikes. On paper the bike specs out pretty well as it comes with Bengal Ares hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm rotors, 8-speed rapidfire Shimano Acera groupset, and a Zoom Forgo fork with 80mm travel and lockout.
Riders can hopefully look forward to long rides on the Aventure’s 14Ah integrated battery which Aventon says averages around 45 miles on a charge (give or take some miles depending on your assist usage).
This bike arrives as a class II e-bike that can reach 20 mph, but Aventon says it’s easily modified up to class III giving you flexibility in how you choose to ride.
Aventon has been offering quality e-bikes since 2018 when they first launched their Pace 500 city bike. Here at Electric Bike Report we’ve been mostly impressed with the quality of the Aventon bikes we’ve reviewed and look forward to seeing how the Aventure fairs compared to Aventon’s other fat tire e-bike, the Sinch.
The Aventure is priced at $1,899 and is available now through Aventon’s website.
