Orbea has revealed the 2027 Rise (Gen 3), the latest evolution of its lightweight e-MTB line designed to bridge the gap between traditional trail bikes and heavy full-power e-bikes. The headline feature is the new Shimano EP810 motor, weighing just 2.3kg and delivering 100Nm of peak torque. Orbea’s Rider Synergy philosophy emphasizes that bike weight matters more than raw power figures; by keeping the platform light, the Rise delivers punchy climbing assistance without the sluggish handling that comes from chasing massive motors and batteries. At 17kg for the SL and 18.5kg for the LT, the Rise offers a class-leading torque-to-weight ratio, providing the climbing power of a heavy e-bike with the agile handling of a mechanical mountain bike.

The Rise lineup splits into two distinct models. The SL (Super Light/Train) features 140mm front and 140mm rear travel, 29-inch wheels, and fixed geometry, targeting fast, flowy single-track and maximum pedaling efficiency. It starts at approximately 17kg. The LT (Long Travel/Enduro) offers 160mm front and 150mm rear travel, a mullet-ready FLP flip-chip to adjust wheelbase, and starts at ~18.5kg. For the first time, the LT is available as a mullet configuration (29-inch front, 27.5-inch rear), but this is factory-only due to Shimano EP810 motor coding that cannot be changed after sale.

All 2027 models feature Orbea’s high-modulus OMR carbon frames with size-specific stiffness, progressive suspension kinematics that reduce pedal kickback, and a steep ‘n’ deep frame design accommodating long-travel dropper posts. Suspension upgrades see Fox Factory Kashima suspension move down to the M20 tier across both lines. RS Gen 2 electronics introduce two power modes: RS Mode (85Nm/400W peak) for natural trail feedback and extended range, and RS+ Mode (100Nm/600W peak) for maximum assistance on steep climbs. Battery options include internal 420Wh (1.9kg, ~1,500–1,800m climbing range) and 630Wh (2.9kg, ~2,200–2,400m), plus a 210Wh range extender that can push total range beyond 3,000m of climbing.

The model lineup ranges from entry-level carbon to flagship lightweight builds. SL models start with the M30 at £5,199 (Deore 12-speed, Performance suspension), progress to the M20 with Factory Kashima suspension (£6,299), the tech-focused M10 RS with XT Di2 and Oquo carbon wheels (£7,699), and top out at the M-LTD RS with XTR Di2 and Oquo LTD carbon wheels (£10,199). LT models follow a similar trajectory, from the M30 at £5,999 through the M20 at £6,999, the M10 RS at £8,499, to the flagship M-LTD RS at £11,399 with full XTR and premium wheels. All models support Orbea’s MyO customization program, allowing riders to spec paint, components, and suspension configurations. Factory colorways include Orange, Midnight, and two carbon weave options, with Escape Green Carbon View exclusive to M-Ltd models but replicable via MyO.

Available exclusively through E-Bikeshop.co.uk, the 2027 Orbea Rise sets a new benchmark by prioritizing rider control, efficient power delivery, and agile handling over meaningless power chases. Interested buyers can reserve builds, discuss MyO options, and consult sizing and battery experts via the retailer.
