Life Time has introduced an “LT Pro Number” requirement for professional racers entering the pro fields at its seven marquee events, including Unbound Gravel, Leadville Trail 100 MTB, Sea Otter Classic, and other races comprising the Life Time Grand Prix. The number permits entry into pro start waves but does not guarantee race registration or count as entry into the Grand Prix series itself. The policy aims to enhance safety and transparency in a racing format that has become increasingly fast and competitive.

Riders may qualify automatically through several performance-based pathways: finishing within 10% of the champion at designated LT Pro Events or LT Pro Qualifiers, placing top 10 in the 2025 or 2026 Life Time Grand Prix series, or holding current national or world championship status. Seven specific races are designated as LT Pro Qualifiers, where a top-three overall finish within 10% of the winner’s time earns the number.

Riders who do not meet automatic criteria may apply for an LT Pro Number via committee review. Acceptable pathways include achieving a top result in a pro field at 19 non-Life Time events, or winning an age group overall at listed Life Time races. Importantly, riders with an LT Pro Number are not required to race pro and may opt to compete in age-group categories instead. Applications are free, can be submitted with each new qualifying result, and remain valid for the calendar year. After 2027, racers must reapply or qualify automatically for 2028 based on the prior season’s results. The committee typically responds within one week.

Overall, the LT Pro Number system establishes a clear, performance-driven pathway into professional racing while preserving access for riders of all abilities across Life Time’s mass participation events.
