Muc-Off has expanded its product line with new sizes of its innovative Big Bore Tubeless Valves, designed to improve the tubeless tire experience for cyclists. Launched a year ago, the Big Bore Valves feature a unique ball valve system that replaces the traditional valve core, aiming to prevent clogging from sealant, enhance airflow for faster bead seating, and simplify sealant maintenance. The valves come in three configurations: Lite (Presta pump, Presta rim), Hybrid (Schrader valve, Presta rim), and Ludicrous (Schrader pump, Schrader rim). While the Ludicrous version is still in development, the Lite and Hybrid versions have been available in various lengths, with the Lite version now expanding to include XL (60 mm), 2XL (70 mm), and 3XL (80 mm) sizes to accommodate deeper road and gravel rims.
The Big Bore Lite valves are constructed from CNC-machined 7075 aluminum and feature a stainless steel ball valve, ensuring durability and reliability. Muc-Off claims these valves allow up to 230% more airflow compared to standard Presta valves, thanks to the core-less design that eliminates airflow restrictions. This design has also earned the Big Bore Valves a 2025 Eurobike Award, highlighting their innovation in the cycling industry. The XL, 2XL, and 3XL sizes are particularly aimed at riders using rims with depths ranging from 30 mm to 68 mm, making them ideal for road and gravel bikes with deeper rims.
Priced at $50 per set, the Big Bore Lite valves are positioned as a premium product, comparable to other high-end valves like the Reserve Fillmore. They are available in several colors, with the new longer sizes offered in black, iridescent, red, and pink. To help customers choose the correct size, Muc-Off provides a sizing chart and an online size selector tool on its website, which allows users to search by bike brand and model for compatibility.
The standard sizes of the Big Bore Lite valves are already available through Muc-Off’s website and retail partners, with the new longer sizes expected to arrive soon. For those interested in upgrading their tubeless setup, the Muc-Off Big Bore Valves offer a unique and innovative solution designed to improve performance and convenience.
