Yeti has launched its new MTe range of lightweight electric mountain bikes (eMTBs), which promise to redefine performance expectations in the eMTB category. The range includes three models: the MTe C2 priced at $9,800, the MTe T3 at $12,650, and the flagship MTe T4 at $14,400. Notably, the T4 model will not be available in the UK, where the C2 and T3 are priced at £9,499 and £10,999, respectively. The UK-spec C2 comes with Fox Factory suspension as standard, including the Fox Factory Float X and FOX Factory 36 Grip X2.

### Lightweight Design and Premium Features
The MTe series is designed to be light, with builds starting at just over 38 lbs (17 kg), making it comparable to enduro race bikes in weight. The bikes are powered by the TQ HPR 60 drive unit, which delivers 60Nm of torque and a maximum of 350W of power. This drive unit is lauded as the industry’s lightest and quietest, offering a natural and lag-free riding experience. The MTe’s design emphasizes refined power delivery and a lightweight build, setting a new benchmark for eMTBs.

### Suspension and Tuning
Yeti has leveraged its expertise from the E-EDR World Cup series to optimize the Sixfinity suspension system for the MTe range. This system allows for independent tuning of acceleration, deceleration, traction, and suspension characteristics, catering to the unique demands of an e-drive unit. The suspension’s leverage rate progression can be adjusted via a chip system, offering riders the choice between supportive efficiency and a livelier feel with enhanced bottom-out resistance. The linear suspension curves ensure consistent and predictable performance.

### Frame and Protection
The MTe features an integrated rear fender to protect the Sixfinity switch link from debris, ensuring smooth suspension operation even in muddy conditions. The downtube guard doubles as an access door for battery swaps and servicing of internally routed cables. The carbon fiber frame is reinforced with Vectran, a high-performance material known for its exceptional impact resistance and overall strength.

### Battery and Range Options
Riders can choose from different battery options to suit their needs. The 290Wh battery offers ultra-light performance, while the 580Wh battery provides extended range and the ability to use boost mode for longer rides. A range extender is also available for those planning extended adventures.

### Component Highlights
The MTe range boasts high-end components, including DT Swiss EXC1501 carbon wheels on the T4 model, SRAM Eagle Transmission on the C2, and SRAM Maven brakes on the C2 and T3. The bikes are compatible with 32T-34T chainrings and feature a custom 35mm rise handlebar with internal e-wire routing. The enhanced color top tube display and minimalistic handlebar remote improve usability.

### TQ HPR60 Drive System
The TQ HPR60 drive system, introduced in 2025, builds on the success of its predecessor, the HPR50. It offers a 20% increase in torque (60Nm) and a 17% boost in motor power (350W), along with improved cooling and efficiency. The system includes a high-resolution color display and is compatible with 290Wh, 360Wh, and 580Wh batteries. At just 3.525 grams (with the 290Wh battery), it is the lightest system in its class. TQ’s patented Harmonic Pin-Ring Transmission, derived from aerospace technology, ensures a quiet, lag-free, and natural riding experience.

### Riding Experience
The TQ HPR60 is designed to enhance the riding experience by making eMTBs feel like analog bikes while providing the benefits of electric assistance. It allows riders to tackle climbs more efficiently and enjoy longer, more adventurous rides without the burden of a heavy bike. The system’s seamless integration and lightweight design make it ideal for eMTBs, adventure bikes, and other e-bike categories.

### Availability and Service
In the UK, Silverfish UK serves as the official distributor for Yeti and the service partner for TQ, ensuring support and maintenance for the HPR60 drive system.

### Conclusion
The Yeti MTe range, powered by the TQ HPR60 drive system, represents a significant leap forward in eMTB technology. Its lightweight design, advanced suspension tuning, and premium components make it a top choice for riders seeking high performance and versatility. Whether tackling technical trails or embarking on long adventures, the MTe delivers a natural and empowering riding experience.
