Oisin Ferrity (Island Wheelers) claimed a clear win in the A3-Junior race at the Tour of Ards today when he triumphed in a bunch sprint from Darragh Doherty (VC Glendale) and Mark Buchanan (Inishowen).

Ferrity, a 16-year-old first year junior, was on international duty last weekend with the Irish junior team at Gent Wevelgem and today put in a turn of speed at the finish that suggests we’ll be seeing a lot more of him.

He took it up early in the bunch sprint, kicked from the front and opened a big gap on those behind to take a clear victory.

The A1-A2 race was won by Darnell Moore of Caldwell Cycles, which you can read about here.
