The new episode of the Brother UK Cycling Podcast features VeloUK’s own Larry Hickmott.
Part two of the podcast’s preview of The Tour Series features Larry in conversation with Phil Jones MBE, the Managing Director of Brother UK, and co-host Timothy John. The trio discusses a host of Tour Series-related topics, from teams and riders to opportunities for towns keen to recover from lockdown.
Larry has covered almost every round of The Tour Series since it began in 2009. He reflects on the legacy of legendary riders like Dean Downing and successful managers like John Herety and offers his impressions of the new generation, including Becky Storrie, Matt Gibson, Eluned King and Matt Bostock.
Phil Jones MBE offers valuable commercial insights. As the leader of a major business, Phil is well placed to comment on issues critical to the sport’s survival. As a sponsor of The Tour Series, he shares anecdotes from the podium, having presented the Brother Fastest Lap trophy to numerous champions.
Timothy John has covered professional cycling since 2012 as editor of RoadCyclingUK.com and Rouleur.cc, and consultant to brands and commercial partners. He shares insights on the forthcoming Tour Series, based on interviews conducted for part one of the episode, including with British Circuit Race Champions Joey Walker and Rebecca Durrell.
