News: Team FTP Look ahead to 2023

The FTP (Fulfil The Potential) team’s racing is coming to the end of their second year and more success for their riders. The team are often associated with the time trial scene with multi National winning success including two National Team 100 champions, 2021 BBAR team, Team 50 comp record, Podium at the 25 champs and solo winners over 100 miles and 2x 12 hours, RRA record holders amongst the honours.

But behind all this, the Women’s road team have been making huge traction, winning races and gaining experience in their own right and the wheels were put in motion to really back the team for 2023.

The FTP mantra from day one has always been rider first, open opportunities and really push a relaxed atmosphere. The team is into their third year with Nopinz who have supported them from day one. With a tiny budget but a huge drive, they have set out to change the view of a team set up. Hosting many successful time trial events, supporting local charities and promoting local charities such as Bristol Mind and Warmley Wheelers who help support cycling possibilities for disabled people.

The team says “the 2023 plan will be to target a small number of National A races alongside a wider race calendar. The team don’t want to run before they can walk and the target is to build the program as we build the success and get the name out there on the road. We are due to announce our Team in the next few weeks and are blown away with the talent we have managed to attract without offering any sort of package, which speaks huge volumes for what we have achieved already and the values of the riders we have attracted”.

They have another strong time trial season lined up as they again look to promote races including the CTT 2023 National road bike champs that they are extremely proud to be chosen to host, whilst helping build the profile of the excellent TT scene in the West district.
