News: Entries wanted for Bridgnorth CC Races
Bridgnorth Cycling Club are appealing for entries for the National B races at their return to racing at RAF Cosford on July 4, named The Hell of the North Runway, when they are re-starting racing at the West Midlands venue on a flat 3.5 mile circuit based on the main runway and service roads. The club are running three races, a men’s 2/3/4 Regional A and a men’s E/1/2/3 Nat B, and a women’s E/1/2/3 Nat B.
“We have a solid field for the Regional A and the women’s National B is building nicely,” said organiser John Ireson, “but we really need more riders for the men’s National B. This is a big moment for us as we haven’t had racing at this venue for several years, and it’s great strength is that it offers an experience like road racing, on a large circuit, but at a completely traffic free venue where we will be able to run large fields in future.”
The men’s Regional A is round 3 of the West Midland’s Road Race league, currently led by David Hird of Halesowen A and CC Academy, while the 90 minute women’s race will be round two of the West Midland’s Women’s Road Race Series, a set of five National B races for women open to riders from any region. Both the men’s races will be two hours in duration. Closing date is Saturday June 26.
