Cycling Ireland named the team – one elite rider, two U23s and two juniors – this afternoon, with the riders set to take on the races in Fayetteville, Arkansas, from January 28th to 30th.

The team was selected by Cycling Ireland’s Off-Road Commission and includes Maria Larkin, the US-based Irishwoman who won the elite women’s crown at the National Cyclocross Championships in Armagh last week.

Seán Nolan (EvoPro Racing), who was 2nd in the elite men’s race in Armagh, and Dean Harvey, a first-year U23 with Spellman Dublin Port, after both selected for the U23 race at the Worlds.

Liam O’Brien (Fermoy CC) and Travis Harkness (VC Glendale), who were 1st and 2nd at the nationals last weekend, have been selected to ride the junior men’s race.

Both were also picked for the Europeans last November in the Netherlands, though Harkness was unable to travel due to Covid-19. O’Brien was 19th a the Europeans.

More to come.
