For 2022, the Gorey 3 day will be running a handicapped Women’s race as part of their Easter weekend schedule. This race is open to W1, W2, W3 and Junior women. To encourage more women to enter the race the Women’s Commission have put together a weekend package so all you have to worry about is turning up and riding your bike……fast 🙂

This includes B&B at the Railway Country House (price is based on sharing room. Single occupancy available at additional cost), Dinner on Saturday and Sunday evening at The Coach House Restaurant (all meals have been built around post-training and recovery) and we will also have our own mechanic each day should there be any issues with bikes etc.

The Women’s Commission have subsidised these costs and are able to provide the above at a cost of €120 per rider (This does not include race entry and riders must do that themselves – entry opening on 17th March).

Spaces are limited and we would ask anyone interested to email [email protected] to confirm your place before 10thMarch.

A deposit of €50 will also be required.

THE EVENT

This will be a handicapped event and the Women’s Commission has been working closely with the organisers to ensure that we have the best possible race scenario for the women based on average speed etc. so that the women get deep into each stage before being joined by the men.

There is an overall winner and QOM jersey classification. This is a fantastic addition to the women’s calendar with the organisers striving to have a women’s standalone event in the near future.

Therefore, it is important that we support this race in its first year.

  • Stage 1 – 98.7km
  • Stage 2 – 95km
  • Stage 3 – 89.6km
