British Elite Development Teams for 2022

British Cycling can today announce the 14 domestic road teams that have secured Elite Development Team status for the 2022 season.

First launched in 2021, our Elite Development Team status recognises those elite road teams that go above and beyond to support talented British riders on their journey to success on the world stage, bridging the gap from club teams to UCI Continental level.

To achieve Elite Development Team status teams are required to demonstrate a high level of support for their riders, providing them with a platform to develop, a comprehensive race programme and race day support. You can find out more about the criteria for selection here.

Applications for this season opened in December 2021, and we’re now delighted to be able to share the names of eight men’s teams and six women’s teams which have been successful in securing the status for 2022.

Ahead of the announcement of this year’s teams, British Cycling Road Manager, Kathryn McClelland, said: “In what is just its second year we were delighted with the number and quality of applications we received for Elite Development Team status in 2022, and I’d like to congratulate all of the teams which we are announcing today.

“Our 2021 cohort of teams delivered some great moments last year and really showed their strength and talent in some high-quality fields. This year we welcome four brand new teams to the fold, and I’m really excited to watch them grow and develop as we head in to a busy spring and summer of racing.”
