BASE Performance located in Boulder has been substantially growing roots outside of the triathlon community where it started years ago. BASE has been a partner with IRONMAN for years and on courses all over North America. They have been working more and more with organizations in the cycling, trail running, and skiing industries in addition to local triathlons by Without Limits and Breakaway Athletic Events.
And now Team Evergreen has announced BASE Performance is a presenting sponsor of the 2021 Triple Bypass bicycle ride and a supporting sponsor of The Hundo, Beti Bike Bash, and Mount Evans Hill Climb.
“As BASE Performance gets more involved in cycling events, we couldn’t be more excited to get involved with Team Evergreen being right in our backyard,” shares Matt Miller, President and CEO of BASE Performance. “BASE is thrilled to partner with their top-notch events, providing nutrition to all of the amazing athletes.” Matt adds, “The Triple is a ride I’ve dreamt of doing for almost 20 years and I finally had a chance to do it the year it was cancelled because of the fires, so now I can’t wait to do it and also be partnering with them as on the on course hydration and bar and be a presenting sponsor.”
BASE has a national team of athletes (about 1,200) who show up in big numbers mostly to triathlons all over the world. Says Matt, “we really hope in the future our athletes come try The Triple and see all that Colorado has to offer, this is really an amazing event.”
The Triple Bypass, an iconic 110-mile cycling event that carves through the heart of the Rocky Mountains, will take place on August 21, 2021. On a combination of highway and bike paths, riders will pedal west from Evergreen, CO to Vail, CO: summiting Juniper Pass, Loveland Pass, and Vail Pass along the way. The highest peak along the route is Loveland Pass topping out at 10,990 feet above sea level. Those who dare to ride the full distance will gain nearly 11,000 feet of elevation in total. “One of the most common concerns Triple Bypass registrants have is staying hydrated during the event, especially at altitude. The variety of premium hydration and recovery products that BASE Performance offers makes for a natural fit to support our community of riders. At this year’s event, cyclists will be provided with BASE Hydro at every aid station to keep them fueled and hydrated throughout their experience” said Jennifer Barbour, Executive Director of Team Evergreen. “We are psyched to partner with BASE because we believe in their products and I use Hydro myself during long rides.”
BASE Performance is committed to helping athletes attain the highest degree of health, performance, and happiness using a holistic approach to nutrition and fueling. They provide premier nutritional products for athletes of all disciplines and fitness levels and are missioned to support the athletic community with honest and forthright information. They offer a variety of nutrition supplements, hydration products, energy bars and recovery products to allow athletes to perform at their best.
BASE Performance’s support will extend to the Triple Bypass training rides offered by Team Evergreen.
