Having won six stages and the overall it is no surprise then Tour de France king Tadej Pogačar has led his UAE Team Emirates squad to the top of the prize money list on this year’s race.

Indeed, the whopping €806,810 the team claimed this year is almost €150,000 more than last year’s top team, Jumbo Visma, which topped the charts in 2023 at €664,280 after Jonas Vingegaard won the race overall and the €500,000 that goes with it.

This time around, UAE Team Emirates completely turned the tables as its tally of €806,810 was more that double Visma-Lease a Bike, which came 2nd in the prize money list, taking home €356,220. Most of that haul was claimed by Vingegaard, who claimed €200,000 for his 2nd place overall and €11,000 for his stage win.

In 3rd place was Soudal QuickStep, who won €248,860; the team of 3rd and 5th overall. Remco Evenepoel and Mikel Landa, posing a significant challenge in the Tour general classification.

At the bottom of the table, Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, won just €17,610 in prize money after its general classification hope, Primož Roglič, was forced out of the race, after crashing, just after the halfway point.

The top prize is €500,000 to the winner of the final individual general classification. There is €200,000 for 2nd with placings 21st to 160th carry a prize of €1,000 per rider. And on each stage there are cash prizes for the top 20; from €11,000 for a stage win down to €300 for 20th.

The points classification and climbers’ classification are each worth €25,000, €15,000 and €10,000 for the top three. Those prizes go down to €2,000 for 8th in the competitions.

And the top three on each intermediate sprint get €1,500, €1,000 and €500. The top three prizes for each HC climb are €800, €450 and €300. Cat 1 climbs have prizes of €650, €400 and €150. Cat 2s offer €500 and €250; cat 3s and 4s offer €300 and €200 for first to the top only.

Each day a most aggressive rider is awarded and the prize is €2,000. The overall winner of that category wins €20,000. The best young rider on each stage gets €500 while the holder of the white jersey on each stage gets €300. And the winner of the overall gets €20,000. The top three teams overall get €50,000, €30,000 and €20,000. And being the best team on one stage nets €2,800.
