L’Étape Ireland Ireland has been announced and will take place here later this year, with expressions of interest being invited from riders

L’Étape de Tour, the Tour de France-style sportive series with events all over the world, is coming to Irish shores with an event to be held here later this year.

Details of L’Étape Ireland have just emerged and expressions of interest are being invited from cyclists who want to take part, before general registration opens in coming weeks.

The event is one of a large number of sportives in the Étape series, owned by the Tour de France and billed as a Tour-like experience, that will take place all over the world this year, with a hilly route for Ireland.

While the precise route for Ireland does not seem to have been set out yet, it is described as “hilly”, with the event set to take place on a 135km course with 1,600m of climbing, in September.

“Taking place in Ireland on 7th September 2024, this is your chance to experience L’Etape like a real Tour de France cyclist,” the organisers have said.

“Register your interest now and receive exclusive access to priority registration in advance of general registration opening on 13th March 2024.”
